My name is Carter Jones a Photography student in my final year of study at Norwich University of the Arts. Born in Kettering, Northamptonshire I moved to Norwich to study photography and have lived in the city for 4 years. During this time I started my university course I began to develop my own personal style. This manifested itself in a curiosity and fascination into nighttime photography.

My reason for the interest stems from my own personal experience with the fear of the dark, as child I recall it being one of my strongest and first experience with fear. This self reflection lead me down a path or researching into the human phycology around the fear of darkness and this is what I try to demonstrate within my images.

Exploration and discovery is a key part as an image maker in my practice. In my work I uncovers and discover nighttime landscape through a camera lens, using my technical on camera and lighting knowledge to document these scenes. my work deals with liminal spaces, exploration, isolation, time, space and atmosphere when exploring nocturnal spaces.
